Come and See My Garden...

Hello Dhaaarlings...

In keeping with Miss MJ's annual garden event I've decided to post a few pics of my own here...

The back garden

Just so I don't feel left out...
It would be even better if I could work out how to get photo's to attach to emails at the same time .... give me a few more weeks to continue working on this a... contraption...

Along the side fence

The overgrown rose beds...

The veggie patch

The back fence with last years aquellegia /granny bonnets in flower

We had a much better winter with a little more rain than past years which has given the garden a chance to recover from a very harsh summer. I hardly had a vegetable garden as the sun just dried everything out last year...

Sadly... a lot of the garden is only just starting to come into flower so, I guess you can expect more posts like this from me as things get really blooming!
I'm off to see how the Flag Iris are progressing...

Bottoms up Darlings...

  1. Welcome back, Prinny!

We need details on how you acquired so many bathtubs.

    1. thanks MJ.
The bathtub collection started after the empress broke her hip and needed floor level entry to the shower... nothing to step over, and following that i did a trip to the local recycle centre and picked up 6 for 10 dollars each. We live in an old gold mining town and i just don't trust the soil enough to grow veggies

  2. Your garden is marvelous darling.

Now, is it just me but some of the pictures and the text at the bottom seem to slide underneath the banner on the right. I though it might be my browser (I'm using Firefox) so I tried with Chrome but it does the same thing.

  3. Hello Princess,

Your garden is beautiful. It must be wonderful walking about, enjoying the sights and scents of all your hard work. I see what you mean regarding the winter rain; your yard is much greener than in some of the pictures you've posted before.

    The bathtubs are ingenious.

    1. Well hello Mr Hawkke, how nice of you to call by... the pleasure is always mine.
You are quite right. There is a noticeable difference when we have had some reasonable rains.
I don't know what chemicals are left over in the mining tailings but lead and mercury don't mix well with veggies, hence the bathtubs.

  5. Those bath tubs are a jolly good idea. I have an old butler sink that needs replanting... sinks, baths... maybe it's time to plant up the loo.

    1. Dear Miss Scarlet, Planting up a loo is not as silly as it sounds and you can get them really cheap at the recycle depots... I might start a garden using a collection particularly if they are the older coloured ones. I could call it "An homage to pooh corner"

  7. I love your garden, Princess! I could happily spend hours pottering about in it. Don't you dare "declutter" the rose beds - that euphorbia and lavendar are beautiful.

Stay tuned for summer blooms... Tho their quality will be dependent on how much heat we get...
