Away from the Palais...

Our travelling luggage is finally packed...

As Princess and the Empress are off on an adventure...

To the big smoke...

Of beautiful Melbourne for the next few days...

Whilst the Empress is tucked up in Hospital to undergo her surgery

Princess shall be taking in the sights of glorious Melbourne...

Doing Lunch in one of the many quaint arcades...

Taking coffee and...

Participating in one of my favourite sports...

Hunting...

 for new Houseboys...

By then I think I Shall be ready to be...

 Sized up...

And fitted for a new suit...

Then...

It will be a case of "Shop until I drop"...

Well...

There is no point waisting valuable shopping time in Hospital waiting rooms

Princess Displays Her Wares....

Princess has recently been asked to display some of her wares...

So has been busy sewing up a storm at the "Palais"

Tote bags And Handbags...

All of which are fully lined with matching/contrasting 100% Cotton lining....

The totebags make great gifts for school kids

And the handbags have an internal pocket for your purse and mobile phone..

They have extended handles that when hung over your shoulder,

sit snugly between your waist and elbow..

Quilts that are.....

These are 2 photos from a series of 3 Single Bed Quilts

All three were done in simalar colours but in light, midtone and, dark shades

The lady that I made them for was thoroughly delighted with the finished result.

So much so, that she immediately ordered a Queen Sized Quilt.

Same pattern but this time in florals and spring tones

I almost have the top finished but unfortunately due to...

 "The Empress Getting a new Hip"

Things have had to be put on hold temporarily...

I just love doing this type of work and am hoping one day, to turn it into my fulltime employ...

The Empress is Getting Hip!

Following long and lenghty consultations with the Palais Surgical Team

And  much waiting

  and waiting

It would seem...

 that after all this time...

""Empress Dowagers Malady" has been misdiagnosed...

Thank you Dr....

We do not suffer from your "Garden Variety" of Arthritis

Oh no...

"Empress"... you have...

Osteonecrosis

And how soon might this affliction be remedied I enquired sweetly?

Initially I was informed that it would be 4-6 weeks

Then on further consultation "2-6 months"

You may well imagine the Empresses dismay at this news...

We travelled home to the "Palais" feeling Quite bewildered by the outcome of our journey....

That was all on Monday....

Today... ( Thursday 18th)  Princess recieved some wonderful news...

It was the local infirmary asking if I could arrange for the Empress to be available for her total hip replacement on the 25th of this month!

Of course I immediately said YES

Princess's prayers have been answered

So....

It's Pre-Op Party Week At "Palais de Steff"

To Console the Inconsoleable....

Dear Friends, Followers and Guests...

It is with some sadness that Princess must inform you that she will be away from her Post for several days as...

She has been asked to become...

 

Your Angel of Mercy...

 and has answered the call....

 from the local infirmary.

Her services are required in...

 healing the sick,

curing the lame....

and  consoling....

 the inconsoleable....

The "Empress Dowager"...

 has been awaiting a hip replacement....

Since sustaing an injury whilst attempting to copy some feats of extreme ironing...

You might recall this moment...

Well after this shot was taken things got very ugly

And as a result of this mishap...

 we are required to present for a pre operative consultation

So wish us luck won't you...
