Hello Dhaaarlings....
In case you hadn't noticed how Quiet it has suddenly become...
It's because...
'The World Game'.. Sadly.. is over ....
In the team event...
The Netherlands ...
despite their wonderful colour coordination and exuberance for team spirit...
Their Competition Tune Playing was unfortunately....
not up to the high standard which the Judges have come to expect of competitors particularly in the final Play-off.
Disappointing for some...
Was the Frequent raising of yellow score cards...
To individual players that rudely miss timed their attack note and...
in one instance the player was awarded a red card and sent off stage...
for a rather innappropriate blow...
The opposing team Spain...
tho not as colourfully coordinated in their attire but...
just as enthusuastic
in there team comerardrie
Seemed to impress the judges...
demonstrating a high degree of technical ability...
and propensity to maintain the rhythm and flow of their set pieces.
Yellow score cards were also held up for individuals that blew foul notes.
It was not until the last few bars of the score that...
Spain...
eventually found their timing again and finished with a marvelous crescendo...
leaving both the Spanish Players and the audience alike.. jumping and celebrating with glee.
The Netherlands Team...
obviously distraught from their initially over exuberant play...
lay exhausted on the stage...
some so overcome by the sheer joy of emotion...
for the other Teams' late... winning play....
were seen to be weeping.
Infortunately...
I did not happen to see many of the individual contestants...
In the Solo Category....
But believe that the competition was open to all Ages and Playing styles
as shown pictorially below..
I've had such a wonderful time at this event.
It has been lovely to see the world united over such a very unique and highly entertaining musical instrument.
And I can't wait for the next competition to come around again in four years time...
But now that it is over I really think that these chappy's will be delighted to be reunited with their beloved Horns..

I am so happy those dirty little Dutch Boys did not win.

ReplyDeleteIt was a dirty match on behalf of the cheesemakers... Only one team turned up to Play football and that was Spain. The "Jackie Chan" move from the Dutchman was really deserving of a red card... Had it been given then it may well have encouraged them to settle down and play football, insteead of playing Kick a Spaniard!

ReplyDeleteYou're right; sometimes it looked like a karate match rather than a football match. What this 'Jackie Chan' did was dangerous game -the Spaniard has his shoeprint marked on his chest!-
I agree with Scarlet! As a matter of fact, most guys start using their horns properly when their team wins, LOL.
But that will be tomorrow at night. Today they're still celebrating over here!

Had that been my local team that got the kick in the chest, they'd stopped playing the game and started kicking ass, starting with the Dutch karate kid!
