Now Showing at "The Palais"

Hello Dhaaarlings...

It's movie Clip Wednesday and after a weeks break of galavanting around the countryside..

Milk River Madman... Our wonderous host....

Has returned with a theme this week that has it's own little twist.

The theme for Wednesday 29th September 2010 is...

"Famous/Popular Movie I haven't seen...
But really should before I die... because everyone tell's me it's great."

Thank you Madman... That leaves me with so many options...

However...

I have to admit that I have gone with a choice of a movie that

I Never... Ever... Intentionaly Want To Subject Myself To...

Do I make myself clear?

I got so sick of all the superhyped build-up surrounding it's release here...
The ceaseless vomit inducing media coverage surrounding the two main protagonists and alleged Box office big time stars...

The Gong goes to....
Ms Kidman Cruise Urban and the very overrated Huge Jackman
Along with a cast of thousands of old hack hasbeen actors that no one outside of this country would recognise... let alone be able to name.

Hell ... half of them leave such an indellable impact I don't even know who they are or recognise them....

And whats more... I can't even bring myself to mention the name of this Horrific Flick.

And I Live Here!

I usually Love what Baz Lhurman does behind the camera...

Strictly Ballroom...Seen it... Loved It

Romeo and Juliet...Seen it... Loved It

Moulin Rouge... Seen It...And dispite Ms Kidman Cruise Urban"s presence...Loved It

But this did me in... as I was rudely assaulted by it's horror as its trailer lurched onto the big screen mid mouthful of popcorn causing me to sputter and cough in disbelief.

Such was the shock that I can no longer recall the main feature...I still shudder at the memory...

Apparently the scenery is very pretty... or so I've been told...
It probably is... but one tends not to notice such things when one is an inhabitant... It's just home...
We were bombed during WW2 So were many other countries to a much greater extent than us... Read your history books people...

It was and still is tough on the land...

Ms Kidman Cruise Urban's English accent is well... dubious... or so I'm told... which is quite unfortunate given that she was born in England

And her emotive facial expressions are always so... botoxed .... naturally believable...

Oh... and Mr Huge Jackman takes his shirt off...

Well... Do me a favour... I don't think that ones ability to remove ones shirt is any indication of being a good actor...It seems lately that he takes his shirt off in every role he attempts to portray... even when jumping out of bathtubs with very sharp knives attached to the ends of his arms

Is this constant disrobing a mandatory stipulation of his contract?

One may well ask...He probably would have done so given half the chance while hosting the Oscars if it would get past the censorship board...

So for those of you who have been wetting yourselves in anticipation of seeing what Princess is "Showing at the Palais" this week

Click Play Now....

Oh... And please...

Wait until I'm on my death bed before even attempting to get me to see this movie... as by then I should be pretty helpless captive audience...

and

With a bit of luck.... I won't even notice...

I much prefer the second clip...
Cocktails Anyone?

Happy MCW Folks...

  1. Oh dear, not another blowing-stuff-up movie.

The scenery does look pretty but one seldom appreciates what's in one's own backyard the way an outsider does.

  2. Were the snakes and crocodiles on vacation during the filming of this movie?

I'd see it just for the scenery, too. Still, I'm curious to see the whole movie, if only to figure out how how Hugh Jackman and Nicole Kidman ended up having an Aboriginal child--either there was a mix up at the hospital or someone's been visiting the help!

  3. I will watch it again and again with my eyelids pried open à la Clockwork Orange if they approve my visa to move there!

  4. The story is too complicated for me. It's about palingenesis?

  5. I haven't seen it and doubt I will. No offense to Australia or anything. Just doesn't blow my skirt up. Happy MCW Princess. Love the last clip the most!

  6. I haven't seen this film. DVDs really should have an audio setting that mutes the dialogue only.

As for cocktails, I'll have something tall and fruity please.

  7. Good afternoon or should I say good morning Princess,

Is it tomorrow or yesterday? Oh anyway, I haven't even heard of it. The third clip was good for a grin.

I'm thinking it's tomorrow, so I hope you enjoyed your clip day.

  8. You know how I feel about this movie. I own the DVD so if you ever decide to watch it you can come visit me.

About Miss Kidman, I've never liked her and her Oscar for The Hours was dubious at best. I think I blogged about that once.

Mr. Jackman is hot and charming. He was in my opinion also a very good Oscar host. Much better than Steven Martin ever was and that's without Jackman taking his kit off. Wish I'd seen him host the Tony's too.

  9. "Is this constant disrobing a mandatory stipulation of his contract?"

I should damn well hope so. At one point it was just about the only thing my teenage daughter and I could agree on - that Hugh Jackman was hot and we'd both do him :)

Never seen Australia and never been tempted - it just looked a bit sterile in the trailers and never appealled.

However, now that I know he takes his top off, maybe I'll rent it and just fast forward through to the best bits :)
