"Palais de Steff" has arrived and is a work in progress.
So come on in...grab a cocktail... or the nearest available houseboy and make yourself at home...feel free to wander about or just plonk yourself down and stay a while...
Princess says "Hello and Welcome"!...
"Amazing how all those things tie together! And I used to love the Seekers - 'Georgy Girl' is still my fave..."
I thought I'd be posting an obscure Aussie group called the "Seekers" They were very big here but wasn't sure about their overseas recognition factor.
Judith is a Doll.
Georgie Girl is a cool tune and one of my faves too...
Dear Miss Scarlets
"The top sheep seems to have wondered out of Pete's closet... *wandered, wondered.... it's all the same..."
Yes... perhaps it is wandering in wonderment... it is all the same when it comes to Petra's closet I suppose... Heels... who would have guessed?
Dear MJ
"Yes, that sheep has definitely strayed from Pete's flock."
Do you mean that Petra will be a sheep short in the top closet when he gets home from the ball?
"Oh and Petra...when you finally roll out of your Kylie coma and read this, be sure to check the comments in Princess's previous post."
Regarding his "Kylie Koma" I think he will be high on the inhaled fumes from Miss K's performance for at least a month... or two even.... Wearthers Original anyone? Dear XL
"I think The Seekers are embraceable! Oh Hai Roxy, Miss Scarlet, Miss Scarlet, MJ!"
They are embraceable those Seekers and for that matter so are the others that you have mentioned.
And Xl, you are probably quite embraceable yourself....
"I thought I'd be posting an obscure Aussie group called the 'Seekers'"
Oh, mais non! They were VERY BIG in the 60s! Really! Lots of Top 40 stuff here. They really hit it big time with Georgie Girl! Two versions, one for radio and one for the film!
I grew up in the mid 60's and didn't realize they had already made it OS. I do remeber their Farewell Concert held at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl here in Melbourne. It was the biggest crowd that the venue has ever seen. Judith was still singing up to a few years ago... Solo... She has the voice of an angel. After the band split she went into a peiod of reclusiveness on an Island somewhere off the coast of Queensland for many years. Eventually making one only apperances at the christmas carol concerts in melbourne... at the music bowl oddly enough..
Hi Wally A 12 string... really?... I'm impressed! Gosh I can recall struggling to get a grip on a six string. And you taught yourself!
The whole country went into collective mourning when they eventually closed up shop. I do remember learning to Play "Mornigtown Ride" on guitar.

I still have a crush on Judith!
I adore the Seekers, so much so, that I got my own Guild twelve-string & taught myself how to play...
ReplyDeleteThey had a great presence in the states.
